Deep Growth affecting generational change.

Mary, a dedicated mother in our tight-knit Maple moms group, discovered more than just sewing needles and fabric when she enrolled in our sewing class. Amidst the sewing machines and shared stories, she found a community that resonated with her. The unity in the group blossomed into meaningful relationships that went beyond just sewing. It created a support system that became an important part of her life and without fully realizing it, the life of her adult son.

Moms from Solidarity's sewing class receiving their certificates at the community exhibition where family members, neighbors, and city and county representatives were present to see their amazing work.

As Mary dove deep into the learning, she unearthed not just a newfound skill but an increase of inspiration and confidence. Little did she know that her journey would have a ripple effect beyond her own transformation. Witnessing his mother’s drive for learning, and seeing the certificate she received at the end of the class, Mary’s son felt a spark reignite within himself. Inspired by her example, he made the courageous decision to return to school and invest in his own personal growth and change for a better future.

It is this deep investment in relationship through classes and workshops that is the special sauce of the Maple moms group. A sewing class is so much more than just a sewing class. It is an opportunity for personal and generational change that will spread across this generation and future ones. Mary’s story is a testament to the profound impact that learning new skills in community can have on breaking the barriers that inhibit the opportunity to flourish.

Will you invest in more opportunities for deep growth that is breaking barriers and transforming Latino immigrant neighborhoods one relationship at a time?
